OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of the Association is the raise and support the level of music, music development and music appreciation in Pequannock Township by working for and with the Pequannock Township High School Music Department in harmony with its directors.

WHAT WE DO

Since 1963, we have supported the music department at Pequannock Township High School.

  • We volunteer our time to support the curricular and extra-curricular ensembles at PTHS.

  • We volunteer at Football Games, Band Competitions, Concerts & Rehearsals in supporting activities such as feeding students, selling tickets or concessions, assisting with uniforms, provide hydration.

  • We run fundraisers to support the expenses not covered by the district & chaperone trips.

  • We donate our time and our talent so that the students involved in our ensembles get the most out of their experience and that our teachers & staff can spend time on teaching.

  • We provide a communication medium between Parents and Staff for the many different Department activities keeping parents information of rehearsals, performance information, volunteer needs, etc.

  • We meet monthly year round to plan and discuss the upcoming events, performances, rehearsals and fundraisers.

WHAT WE'VE ACHIEVED IN THE LAST 8+ YEARS

  • Helped the staff to run an annual Department Trip for our Jazz, Concert, & Marching Bands and our Choir so they can perform with adjudication.

  • Provided over $12,000 annually to pay for additional staff & special instruction

  • Volunteered time to sell entrance tickets for all home PTHS Football games.

  • Provided over $25,000 in scholarships to graduating Seniors

 

  • Fund raised to provide another $10,000 annually towards program expenses.

  • Donated money, instruments & other assets for the music department.

  • Provided multiple outlets of communication between parents & staff - Email, Text, Website, Facebook.

  • Initiated & support a Parent Group for the PTHS Spring Musical & support a Summer Theater Program.
